Maybe it would be interesting to have a kind of temporary instance or room which allows people to subscribe to an instance setup just for the duration of a conference.
You will keep the idea of Mastodon of being between peers and you will be able to follow everything concerning the conference.

Yes a hash tag linked to server would be interesting. A kind of "relay". It would not store the messages, but only forward the toots to everyone which is subscribed.

Maybe we want a different kind of hash-tag. One that embeds the name of the server gathering the debate.
