If we would like to use an "ecological" or at least the most-resource-saving protocol on Internet for exchanging text and files and which is secure, what could it be?

Gopher is quite simple, but has no security.

Gemini integrates with TLS, but doesn't allow to know the file's size before downloading. I think it is better to be able to choose to download according to the file size.

HTTPS allows maybe too much overhead and too much linked resources.

J'aime bien le minimalisme de Source Hut (sourcehut.org/), on sent que le logiciel se concentre sur les fonctionnalités les plus importantes.

S'il y avait une version de Source Hut hébergée en Europe je serais peut-être prêt à l'utiliser comme alternative à tous mes dépôts Github, Gitlab, Framagit existants.

Did you already notice the issue?
I have a slow Internet connection, is it maybe linked?

I can open a bug issue, but I don't know how to do it on SourceHut.

@julienxx@mastodon.sdf.org I found something funny. I discovered you began to code your Gemini client named "Castor" on the 26th November 2019 (at least, it is what I saw on SourceHut), and I began to code my Gopher client named "Marmotte" on the 11th November 2019.

Just in a few days two projects linked with Gopher/Gemini came up with French names, haha!
